George Ow, Jr. was born under a lucky star in 1943, in Santa Cruz Chinatown, the year that the Chinese Exclusion Act was repealed. He will speak on how his family coped in the United States during the exclusion, a time when "A Chinaman's Chance" meant absolutely no chance at all. Find out what attitudes and actions worked to make good use of opportunities and about the kind people who helped the Chinese and his family. We'll also learn how George lived his early years in Santa Cruz Chinatown, his life and work since then, and his dedication to serving the community.
