Developing and Refining your Syllabi for Research Projects (@Humanities 1 room 620)

As part of an on-going collaboration with the Library to facilitate professional development in the Humanities Division, The Department of Literature will be offering a workshop for Graduate Student Instructors called "Developing and Refining your Syllabi for Research Projects" at 3pm, January 21 in Humanities 1 room 620.

This workshop will focus on developing curriculum that utilizes library resources in order to introduce undergraduates to primary and secondary source research. Topics in this workshop will include equity in the classroom and the library, an overview of services and resources, examples of assignments designed with these resources in mind, and library resources for teaching (tools for evaluating sources, etc.).

Land Acknowledgement

The land on which we gather is the unceded territory of the Awaswas-speaking Uypi Tribe. The Amah Mutsun Tribal Band, comprised of the descendants of indigenous people taken to missions Santa Cruz and San Juan Bautista during Spanish colonization of the Central Coast, is today working hard to restore traditional stewardship practices on these lands and heal from historical trauma.

The land acknowledgement used at UC Santa Cruz was developed in partnership with the Amah Mutsun Tribal Band Chairman and the Amah Mutsun Relearning Program at the UCSC Arboretum.
