DSI Demos & Assessments

Use the links below to schedule your assessment for DSI equipment. More information about our equipment and our online training can be found on the DSI Canvas site.

Prior to your assessment, make sure that you complete the following steps:

Complete the DSI Safety Quiz
Attend an in person workshop (required for Glowforge, reccomended for 3D printer)
Complete the equipment safety quiz (3D Printer or Glowforge)

The default booking is for 30 minutes. The assessment takes 30 minutes. For Glowforge assessments, we reccomend booking 1 hour to include practice time.

You will need your Student ID for the assessment process.

NOTE: Glowforge assessments are unavailable for the time being while we update our proceedures. Thank you for your patience.

IMPORTANT: When you request a booking for your assessment, you will get an email with your time requesting confirmation. You must confirm that original email before it moves forward in the system. If you don't confirm, the system will automatically cancel your booking request.

Land Acknowledgement

The land on which we gather is the unceded territory of the Awaswas-speaking Uypi Tribe. The Amah Mutsun Tribal Band, comprised of the descendants of indigenous people taken to missions Santa Cruz and San Juan Bautista during Spanish colonization of the Central Coast, is today working hard to restore traditional stewardship practices on these lands and heal from historical trauma.

The land acknowledgement used at UC Santa Cruz was developed in partnership with the Amah Mutsun Tribal Band Chairman and the Amah Mutsun Relearning Program at the UCSC Arboretum.
