Welcome! The Digital Scholarship Innovation Studio offers a variety of technology for use by UCSC students and faculty.

DSI equipment requires training prior to use. More information on our training opportunities (both in person and online) can be found on our Getting Started page.

The DSI equipment is available to book with at least 1 days notice and up to 1 week in advance. Equipment that is not booked may be available for walk in use on a first come, first served basis. We also have a quick print 3D printer only available for walk-in prints for up to 2 hours.

For 3D printers, please book the equipment for your print time plus 1 hour to account for setup and cleanup needs. DSI hours are 10AM-5PM Monday-Friday, making the longest print we can support 7 hours.

Land Acknowledgement

The land on which we gather is the unceded territory of the Awaswas-speaking Uypi Tribe. The Amah Mutsun Tribal Band, comprised of the descendants of indigenous people taken to missions Santa Cruz and San Juan Bautista during Spanish colonization of the Central Coast, is today working hard to restore traditional stewardship practices on these lands and heal from historical trauma.

The land acknowledgement used at UC Santa Cruz was developed in partnership with the Amah Mutsun Tribal Band Chairman and the Amah Mutsun Relearning Program at the UCSC Arboretum.
